Yingyi (Mono) Mo

Mono Mo is a PhD pre-candidate in Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the Daniels Faculty. Mo's research in general concerns the architectural/design uses of technologies and techniques, and generative disruptions in use patterns. Centering on the uses in architecture/design, Mo takes an interest in creative processes; habituation and naturalization of techniques; and the mediatic effect of design technologies. Upon studying what has been habitual from the past and what is being used at present, Mo asks what are other uses and how to disrupt the current uses for other possibilities. Mo currently looks closely at the functions in CAD (Computer-Aid Design) programs, parametric design methods, and design computation.
