Sessional Dates

School of Graduate Studies Sessional Dates

Daniels sets additional sessional dates specific to the MArch, MLA, MUD, and MVS programs such as elective course enrolment start dates. It is your responsibility to be aware of the general sessional dates set by SGS and the Daniels sessional dates for your program.  Please note that course add/drop dates are not the same as the fee refund schedule. Deadlines for fee payment, fee refund schedules and other financial dates are posted on the Student Accounts website.

2021 Summer Session

For students enrolled in any of our graduate ARC elective courses during the Summer 2021 session, sessional dates will vary by course. For date and deadlines specificallt pertaining to these courses, please refer to our Summer 2021 ARC-Elective Sessional Dates.

May    
May 7 Registration deadline for students registering or starting their program in the Summer (May to August) session; after this date, a late registration fee will be assessed. Minimum required payment due (unpaid fees from previous session[s] + 50% of Summer session tuition fees)  
May 10 Final date to enrol in May-to-June or May-to-August session courses  
May 14 Coursework must be completed and grades submitted for full-year and Winter session courses (except for extended courses)  
May 19 Grades for Winter session courses available for viewing by students on ACORN  
May 21 Presidential Day (University closed)  
May 24 Victoria Day (University closed)  
May 28 Final date to drop May-to-June F section courses without academic penalty  
May 31 Payment deadline to avoid service charges on unpaid Summer (May to August) session tuition and non-tuition fees for students registered in the Summer session, except for those who have successfully registered without payment because they are receiving a full funding package via a research stipend, a major award or scholarship, teaching assistantships, tuition waiver, and/or sponsorships. Monthly service charges will begin accruing on June 15

2022 Winter Session

January 17 Registration deadline for students registering or starting their program in the Winter (January to April) session; after this date, a late registration fee will be assessed. Minimum required payment due (unpaid fees from previous session[s] + 100% of current Winter session tuition fee charges)  
January 21 Final date for all students to request that their degrees be conferred in absentia in March. If no special request made in advance of this date, eligible students will be automatically put forward for June Convocation.  
January 31 Payment deadline to avoid service charges on unpaid Winter (January to April) session tuition and non-tuition fees for students registered in the Winter session only, except for those who have successfully registered without payment because they are receiving a full funding package via a research stipend, a major award or scholarship, teaching assistantships, tuition waiver, and/or sponsorships. Monthly service charges will begin accruing on February 15.

February 20 Final date to drop full-year and winter session courses without academic penalty  
February 21 Family Day (University closed)  
Febraury 21 - 25 Reading Week (no Daniels Faculty classes) Optional course travel may take place (studio / FOR3009H etc.)
