Late Withdrawal (LWD)

Undergraduate students pursuing a degree in the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design may request a late withdrawal (LWD) for a total of 3.0 FCEs without petition.

An LWD can be a remedy to situations where personal or other circumstances mean a student is irretrievably behind in a course. Students who have fallen behind with assignments or are not at all prepared to write exams in one or more courses will be expected to make use of this remedy and seek academic advising from the Office of the Registrar and Student Services. Note that the option for Late Withdrawal is not available if an allegation of academic misconduct is under investigation.

LWDs can be approved for any course taken through the Faculty of Arts & Science or on the UTM and UTSC campuses.

Late Withdrawal Form

Please complete the Late Withdrawal Form and submit it via email to the Office of the Registrar and Student Services at registrar@daniels.utoronto.ca.

LWD requests must be received by the last day of the term for the relevant course. (i.e., the end of the last week of classes).

The academic record is updated with the notation LWD and the course status will have no effect on GPA. Tuition charges cannot be reversed or refunded.
